My name is Taralyn Parr.

With more than a decade of in-house and consulting experience, and doctoral research on identity, leadership, and the workplace, I bring a rare combination of strategic sophistication, operational fluency, and academic rigour to IDEA work.

Sustainable transformation demands more than good intentions—it requires clear strategy, aligned leadership, and integrated accountability. I partner with organizations to embed IDEA principles into everyday practice, because lasting change happens only when strategy, measurement, capability, and systems move together.

Assessments

My assessments go beyond surface-level audits. Drawing on my background as a researcher, I use rigorous, evidence-based methods to give organizations a clear, honest picture of where they are and what is actually driving outcomes. From there, we build strategy and solutions on data, not assumption.

Strategy Design

No two organizations are the same, and neither is the strategy I build with them. I work closely with leadership and teams to design IDEA strategies that are grounded in your specific context, culture, and goals—so what gets built is something you can actually own and execute.

People Practices

Inclusive organizations do not always need to start from scratch—sometimes the most powerful work is in retrofitting what already exists. I review and redesign talent systems, practices, and policies to identify where bias creeps in and opportunity gets lost, ensuring your processes work equitably at every stage.

IDEA Data

What gets measured gets managed—but only if you're measuring the right things. I help organizations design and implement systems to collect meaningful IDEA data, then use that data to set clear metrics, track progress, and make informed decisions that keep equity goals from stalling out.

Education & Capacity

Sustainable change requires capability. I design and deliver educational sessions that meet people where they are, building the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to lead inclusively at every level. The focus is practical and applied, so learning translates directly into how people lead, hire, and show up every day.

Leadership Advisory

Leading inclusively is a skill and even the most committed leaders benefit from a trusted thought partner. I work directly with senior leaders as a strategic advisor, offering guidance, candid perspective, and practical support to help leadership navigate complexity, model inclusive practice, and build the conviction that drives real change.

Why It Works

The most successful organizations don't just talk about inclusion—they build it into how they lead, make decisions, and grow. When IDEA is embedded into every thread of an organization, innovation follows, engagement deepens, and opportunity expands.

 

What sets me apart is the ability to not only build strategy, but operationalize it. In addition to hands-on experience implementing multi-year IDEA strategies, I have formal training and experience in project management, change management, and coaching. I understand what it takes to move ideas from vision to execution—managing complexity, bringing people along, and influencing change in ways that actually stick.

 

In my experience, this is where most IDEA efforts fall short: not in the quality of the strategy, but in the infrastructure and follow-through needed to make it real. That gap is where I do some of my most important work.
